Message from the Program Director in Orthodontics
The Nicolas & Asp College of Postgraduate Dentistry offers a 3-year full-time Master degree program in Orthodontics run in close collaboration with Malmo University, Sweden. Malmo orthodontics is reflective on the excellence in programming and technology found in Europe. Orthodontic faculty members from the USA bring the American influence to the curriculum as well. Educational focus is on teaching the fundamental importance of proper orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. Also emphasized is the biological understanding of orthodontic treatment including growth and development. Excellence in research is stressed and residents are required to publish their research results in a scientific professional journal. The edgewise orthodontic treatment system of choice is the contemporary MBTtm appliance, and the Orthodontic Clinic Director, Dr. John Bennett, is the “B” in MBT. Dolphin Imaging software is used for management of patient data and the faculty represent American, European and Middle East experiences. Our educational program is accredited and our vision of excellent orthodontic training is validated by the Ministry of Higher Education & Research in UAE.
